Webb3 juli 2024 · The new IAbed Rear Main Seal Upgrade for 2.0L FSI engines! The FSI’s OEM rear main seal is cast flange construction with a PTFE seal. These are prone to leaking due to their design. The OEM seal relies on a tight fit to keep it in place, yet has no support to actually keep it tight on the crankshaft. WebbThe most common cause of rear main seal failure is a faulty PCV valve. The TSI engine is known to have PCV valve failures, which will cause an excess of crankcase pressure. This is more pressure than the rear main seal can handle. PCV issues can surface with multiple symptoms or virtually none at all.
