So I happened upon a hell of a deal. 5000 large rifle magnum primers and 4 lbs of Aliant RL-22 for $140 even. … WebApr 1, 2024 · Over the years the only primers I've used for 308 bolt gun, 6.5 swede, 45-70, 30-06 bolt gun, 30-30,and 7mm-08 are either CCI-200, CCI-250 or WLR. Ive been using them so far in my brief career in loading for an AR-10. My question is: are these primers OK or should I be trying to get some of the CCI-34 mil-spec primers for 308 auto.

I think it is better to do a separate load work up for each different primer. Primer A may shoot best with 43.5 gr Varget. Primer B might shoot best with 43.7 gr Varget.
